Well I don't believe bunrush is the prophet/guru she so desperately desires us to believe. And it surprises me that even artbasher accepts her pomp dribble as art-wisdom. She does have some interesting points and great ideas to ponder, but it is not a complete system. It is not all quite that simple. There are many other avenues left out. Rich people love art, like all people love art, because it is entertainment. All people love to identify with some culture that represents there values and these various art pieces are displayed as symbols that express these values and interests. People want to have fun while they are alive and feeling like you are top dog feels good. This "family trust crowd" that bunrush speaks of is just another "new" enemy created by a woman suffering paranoia and delusion. This ridiculous religious leader of the pessimistic artworld sees what she wants to see. Rich people love art and some rich people love to make it. Is this "bad"??? I think not. People are either tweeked to produce art or not. Many may "give it a go" for a time but most are like dross that will wash away. An art collector/investor when considering which artwork to purchase first considers what will happen to it's value. If the artist is a "fly by nighter", well then it may not perform very well. Some of the people who have purchased my own work are young rich art collector/investors seeking to gather contemporary collections in the footsteps of there parents. Not because of glory or an evil fad etc but because they are "into it". It is fun for them. Bunrush is a kill joy with a very small imagination and it is persons like her who are ruining the artworld

Who let the mouth-breather into the party?

Not only can he not write - he also cannot (apparently) read. He makes multiple arguments against multiple positions I did not articulate. Setting up his own ill-formed straw-men and then NOT EVEN knocking his own creations down.

I have suspected, for some time, that Q was a trust-afarian & now I'm damn-near sure.
While I'm only damn near sure he's a 'remittance man' (paid to stay out of his family's hair) I'm 100% sure that he's a typical subnormal art/music lifestyler.

I've listened to his 'experimental' music and its pert-near as bad as his visual art and writing. May I suggest a sheltered workshop environment for the boy-man. And, Q, try cutting down on the cannabis, it may help your linear thinking and writing abilities.

I don't drink, smoke or do any drugs... let me guess, your idea of good music is Cat Stevens and James Taylor

More like Beefheart, Throbbing Gristle, Pixies, Dead C, and the exotic instrumentation of Martin Denny & the extreme prepared piano of Andrea Neumann. I'm also quite fond of The Carpenters.

But why I'm explaining myself to you butt-weevil escapes common sense.

So, if you don't smoke, drink and do drugs how did you manage to (apparently) lose at least half of your neurons.

I still more than suspect that you are a trust-afarian milch-bubby. Now do something else with the free time pater and mater purchased for you....like sport.

Sometimes things change just to make it more pleasant for yourself, and sometimes you change things to make yourself more appealing to yourself. Sometimes your make things to make yourself more appealing to others, and sometimes others make you seem more appealing to others. Sometimes you don't make things for others so that you can believe your doing it for yourself.

Why do celebrities carry small dogs?

brainrush is a celebrity because she has treated me like a small dog. I suppose having a bigger than usual brain is equal to having a family with a bigger than usual bank balance

It depends on if behavior comes before or after impulsiveness, if your attention span is longer, you have an advantage over yourself and if its a shorter attention span its like being a famous dog because of your owner.

Bunrush mentioned Martin Denny! You need to buy a big wooden stereo from the early sixties and play an exotic Denny LP on it... hmmm ...fabulous mono.

Felix Slatkin is also good.

I'm off topic.

That's a bit ubiquitous, it's just Mr Everywhere.

And he's not in a white gallery like the matador girl.

Hey luncheon boy, so you think that Don Key hand jiving with the Pacific Mama's, is up there with the post structuralists?

Looks more like a baby kissing-op to me, the big white chief having some time out and mixing with the tribe; how Laborious. Smells of bead trading colonists, head hunting anthropology or just old fashioned, vacuum cleaner selling.

Or is it the formal concerns that put the pickle on your meat? That way the 'pale blue tie' contrasts with the subtle yellow lei, and the general Guaguinesqueness of the photo?

Or maybe its up there with much artspace dribble in its general dullness.

John key here is doing a safety dance. It is a popular fallback, structuralist in the sense that its a major contributor to the layer cake effect.
