February 2018 heralds in the Chinese New Year - Year of the Dog, and Parnell could not be more excited about it.

This year, 20 extraordinary Artists and Celebrities have created individual works of art that will be auctioned off to raise money for The Starship Foundation – National Air Ambulance Service.

Artists such as Leda Daniel, Otis Frizzell and Rae West, with Celebrities Petra Bagust, Erin Simpson and Kelly Coe to name a few; have donated countless hours and put endless thought and care into their works.

Dogs are regarded as an auspicious animal. If a dog happens to come to a house, it symbolizes the coming of fortune…A brilliant reason to participate in this years art auction!

The 20 exclusive ‘Dogs’ will be displayed throughout various Parnell galleries, stores and retail shops for all to view for two weeks from February 17th through to March 4th. We invite you to pick up a map from local cafés and galleries or download from www.parnell.net.nz and take yourselves on the ‘Dog Walk of Parnell’.

During the Dog Exhibition, you are invited to establish and secure your interest in any of the ‘Dogs of Art’ by making a pre auction bid, prior to it being formally auctioned at Jonathan Grant Galleries on Thursday March 8th at 6pm.

Each Dog on show around Parnell will have a QR code displayed with it for patrons to place an early ‘Pre-Auction’ bid. You are welcome to bid on as many Dogs as you like, with bids over $500 being accepted. You are encouraged to view each Dog before making a bid. Pre - Auction bids can be made through www.parnell.net.nz.

The live auction at Jonathan Grant Galleries takes place the on Thursday March 8th at 6pm with a final viewing and opportunity to meet some of the talented artists and celebrities from 5.30pm. Proceeds from the auction will go to the Starship Foundation – National Air Ambulance Service. All serious bidders are welcome on the night!

2018 is the third year in a row Parnell celebrates Chinese New Year and with only 20 artworks available, we have no doubt these precious ‘Dogs of Art’ will find their ‘forever homes’.
